Björgunarmiðstöðin HSSK is the headquarters for the Kópavogur rescue squad. The 2200 m² building is designed around a central core with a climbing wall connecting the floors that ascend in their level of fineness.

The first floor houses vehicle storage and maintenance as well as smaller teams rooms. On the second level rescuers have direct access to the operation controls as well as dressing rooms.

The purpose of the third and uppermost floor is social gatherings and teaching. This floor can be decoupled from the rest of the building to be rented out without compromising the functionality of the rescue facilities. It features a full scale industrial kitchen and great views over the surrounding mountains.

Design on the project started in 2022 and the building was completed in 2025.
